I'm usually able to tolerate the heat, but this bottle of Texas Pete was hot asf. I bought it at dollar tree. Has anyone else in here tried it?

  1. I accidentally used it for a buffalo chicken dip once. The Super Bowl party was not happy.

You must be a young hot sauce padawan

Time to step up the game and try a bottle of Tabasco Scorpion. Next level incoming!

I have it….it good enough for ramen noodles

That’s rated 3000-3500 Scoville. If you consider that hot, cool.. beware a lot of reviews here as many are 10x hotter, with extracts 20/30x.

You’ve got an awesome journey ahead of you 😀

Ah yeah ive had that one and I was pleasantly surprised. In my opinion, this is what Texas Pete “Normal” should be. It does have a very tingly cayenne pepper kick.

    Its hot! Enjoy!

Looks like you’ve about finished it, though. Congrats! You’re levelling up!

Texas Pete is good but I can’t find any black label near me. Frank’s xtra-hot is available near me.

Try Melinda’s or Marie Sharpe’s. They have good slightly warmer but not burning hot sauces. Melinda’s has a little pepper scale on the label for what it’s worth.

If Texas Pete makes a “Hotter” sauce, do they make a “Hottest”?

this has the great taste and more kick without me having to add anything and I really appreciate it, I wasn’t expecting that when I first tried it.

Seriously bro? You need to get out more. Time to go even hotter!!!!

Love all the hardos in here who eat scorpion peppers for breakfast 😂 it’s not a competition. I remember really liking that sauce and using it for my wings! Yes, there are plenty of hotter sauces out there, but just have fun exploring what’s available to you.

I thought I was reasonably good with pretty hot stuff (although admittedly lately I haven’t been dousing my food in hot sauce so my tolerance is down) and I went to an awesome Thai restaurant and ordered my fried rice at a 2 level (out of 5), and it absolutely wrecked me lol. Sweated bullets. And to think, I thought maybe I should’ve ordered a 3 or 4…

To be fair some batches of sauce are hotter than others. Once in a while a while I’ll get a bottle of tobasco that I swear is made habaneros

  17. Yeah for me it’s not even spicy but everyone has their tolerance level.

I mean,  this is either clear rage bait or marketing, right?

  19. aikeaguinea97

it is? this is actually my go-to hot sauce, i really love it and prefer it to Frank’s, but i’ve only found it yknow moderately spicy compared to, say, something w habanero or scotch bonnet in it

  20. You should try Tabasco Scorpion and use a lot 👍

Bro I’m not trying to be a gatekeeping dickhead but I will literally chug that entire bottle in front of you and not even need a glass of water afterwards. Step yo spicegame up.

  22. pnmartini

Don’t let others dissuade you. It’s not a competition. Not everyone can deal with stuff spicier than ketchup.

I just mixed this with a mango aioii on a chicken sandwich yesterday. Absolute banger

I got it at dollar tree because I moved and was broke and I am thoroughly surprised by how hot it is. I do not like the regular stuff that much.
